Do you trust your dog’s obstacle commitment? Can you cue a jump and then take off in the opposite direction? Has an instructor ever told you to, “trust your dog,” but you just did not know if you could? This online seminar teaches dogs to look for their obstacles and then stay committed to them regardless of their handlers movements. Additionally, the class will teach handlers how to commit dogs to a path and to determine when their dog commits to an obstacle. The focus of the course will be jump commitment, however, we will also do a few training exercises that will work to improve tunnel commitment as well.
This online class provides 24 obstacle commitment exercises featuring several different dogs (Giggle - mini poodle, Tickle -BC, Cheerful - BC) and one 2 year-old ( Lobo - chocolate Lab). The class is 12 weeks long and is an independent study - in other words, you start when you sign up and end 12 weeks later. Students will post videos and questions that I will reply to every 24 hours (Monday - Thursday - then once Friday - Sunday). All assignments are posted in the comments section of the announcement/pinned post - allowing each team to move at their own pace.
